HITIHE/WikiTropica project: Problem based learning and e-cases finalization workshop in Indonesia
The Health Information and Technology for Improved Health Education (HITIHE), Erasmus+ project, aims at strengthening capacities of partner institutions in Indonesia and Cambodia through the training of specific cadres, such as techno-pedagogical staff and health librarians. The project enforces the co-creation of open access online scientific and educational resources, such as electronic interactive clinical cases on tropical medicine, education decision making tools as well as general health librarian e-modules such how to use PubMed and Endnote. With this project, the Illustrated Lecture Notes on Tropical Medicine are again freely available on the https://wikitropica.org/ platform.
The process of educational content co-creation has brought a large group of the HITIHE colleagues in Indonesia, at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, the week of Nov 28th, 2022, in order to finalize several tropical medicine e-cases and health librarian e-modules. Amongst the European partners in the HITIHE project, the Maastricht University is well-known for its use of Problem Based Learning (PBL). Therefore, the University of Maastricht has taken care of conducting sessions on how to Integrate PBL as digital pedagogical innovations into course curricula, improving the use of techno-pedagogical teaching methods in courses’ learning activities. A happy international crew has been trained on PBL thanks to this opportunity. The HITIHE Erasmus+ project is co-funded by the Alliance for Education (under the DGD Framework Agremeent).
