CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: Shape the Future of Climate-Health Research Ethics - Round 2 - extended deadline

Published on November 25, 2025

🟪 ROUND 2 EXTENDED DEADLINE 🟪
🌍 Help Shape the Future of Climate-Health Research Ethics

Thanks to everyone who joined Round 1 of our WHO-funded Delphi Study! Your insights have been invaluable. We’re now moving into Round 2, where we build on the dialogue you helped start — and we’re inviting additional colleagues to take part.

🔬 WHY THIS MATTERS
As climate impacts intensify, vulnerable communities face disproportionate health burdens. Research in this space raises complex ethical questions, amongst others:
• How do we communicate environmental risks without actionable solutions?
• How do we ensure equity in benefit distribution?
• Who sets the research agenda—and whose voices are centered?

💡 OUR APPROACH
Led by the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Antwerp), this study integrates perspectives from climate-affected communities in India and the Philippines with the experiences of researchers and ethics committee members worldwide.
In Round 2, participants will review the collective results from Round 1 — a unique opportunity to reflect on your own views in light of the group’s perspectives and help refine emerging consensus statements.

📊 WHAT'S INVOLVED
• 3 online survey rounds (30 min each) between October 21st and December 14th 2025
• Evaluate and comment on ethical statements derived from community insights
• Contribute to the creation of a compendium of context-sensitive ethical practices

🎯 THE IMPACT
Your contribution will directly inform WHO-backed ethical recommendations that bridge the gap between theoretical guidelines and lived realities of climate-vulnerable populations.
