Help ITM win the Heritage Challenge 2025: vote now!
Our historic water basin at the entrance of the ITM clinic has been selected as one of eight heritage treasures competing in the Heritage Challenge 2025, organised by the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK/IRPA).
With your vote, we could win a prize to restore the bassin.
Voting is open until 1 February 2026.
Your vote matters
Every vote brings us closer to restoring this hidden technical masterpiece, once part of an ingenious air ventilation system designed to improve comfort and health in the building.
Winning the main prize would already cover half of the needed restoration budget. Your vote truly makes a difference!
A technical gem
Designed in the 1920s by architects Marcel Spittael and Paul Le Bon, measuring nearly 12 metres long, with a graceful fountain and water curtain, it was connected to a pipe system that humidified and circulated air throughout the building, an early and innovative form of climate control.
